ATM General Prevention Tips

GENERAL PREVENTION TIPS

1] Never disclose your PIN to anyone, whether to family member, bank staffs or police.

2] Never use your date of birth, National identity card number, international passport number, driving license number or street address as a PIN number – those are the first numbers a fraudster will try.

3] Change your PIN after you must have collected it from the bank or card’s provider.

4] Change your PIN periodically, and, if you think it may have been compromised, change it immediately.

5] Regularly check your account balance and bank statements and report any abnormality or discrepancies to your bank or card’s provider.

6] Don’t use the ATM if the screen is blank.

7] Don’t throw away your ATM receipts at the ATM locations. Keep them to reconcile your account then dispose them properly when you get home.

8] Always make sure to remove or retrieve your ATM card from the machine when the transaction is complete.

The event that your wallet, bag get stolen].

15] Memories your PIN [if you must write it down, do so in a disguise manner and never carry it with your card]

16] Never be in a hurry when using an ATM. Make sure you are not distracted, intimated or rush into your transaction.

17] Never write your card details such as: PIN, card number, expiry date, e.t.c in your phone, so that if it gets stolen or loss your card will not be cloned or the details are used to collect your money from ATM or do shopping online.
